Celebrities can be valuable to advertisers, but so too can the people who follow them on social media websites. According to The Nielsen Company, 64 percent of adult U.S. Internet users who follow a celebrity also follow a brand — this means the celebrity follower is four times more likely to follow a brand than the average U.S. adult online.

Eight percent of the American adults who use the internet are Twitter users. It is an online activity that is particularly popular with young adults, minorities, and those who live in cities.
Overall, observations related to users’ personal or professional lives are the most popular types of updates, while location-based tweets and links to videos are the least commonly mentioned…

With Black Friday rapidly approaching, parents may want to get up early Friday morning to find deals, as a recent survey shows their kids are eyeing some wallet-stretching electronics this holiday season.
According to these Nielsen statistics, 31% of kids ages 6 to 12 want an iPad for a holiday gift.

Our recently published “What Americans Do Online” article produced a fantastic level of interest, including questions and suggestions about other ways to look at the data. Since this is how we typically work with clients, collaborating on how to get to the best analysis, we acknowledge that data alone doesn’ always provide the complete picture.
There is entirely too much data in the world and too many eyes seeing it to not look at it in alternative ways.
