Resource: While oil spews and cleanup continues, BP chief watches yacht race.
This may be the true tipping point for BP and Tony Hayward. Not the failed efforts to stop the oil. Not the testimony to Congress. Not the “I want my life back” comment. The yacht race may very well be the real point-of-no-return in the eyes of the public.

Resource: Visualizing the BP Oil Spill Disaster.

Resource: 4 Social Media Efforts to Aid the Gulf Coast.
Via Mashable.
The far-reaching Gulf oil spill tragedy has left many people feeling powerless to help out. But beyond the official Deep Horizon response, pockets of non-profits and people are starting to use social media tools to organize grassroots activities throughout the Gulf region.
Even though it is impossible to predict disasters, I would like to see some sort of system be put in place so the grassroots work can get started immediately.
