Cuteness!

You know how people, especially job interviewers, like to ask “What do you see yourself doing in five years?”
Right.
Five years ago I never could have imagined that I would have just posted a one word comment: “Cuteness!” on the Facebook wall of Beast, the canine companion of Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan.
Yeah, I really did just do that and yes, he really is cute.

Add “Facebook depression” to potential harms linked with social media, an influential doctors’ group warns, referring to a condition it says may affect troubled teens who obsess over the online site.
As adults, I hope we have learned not to obsess over Facebook and other social media and can help teens to understand it better.

By 2013, 62% of web users and almost half (47.6%) of the overall US population will be on Facebook.

By the end of 2010, 16.4 million US adults, or 9% of the adult internet population, used Twitter.
FYI. Keep in mind that although both fall under the social media umbrella, Facebook and Twitter are different.

“Misery Has More Company Than People Think,” a paper in the January issue of Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, draws on a series of studies examining how college students evaluate moods, both their own and those of their peers.
I think it is good to have a full range of friends on Facebook and in real life, from those who only update with the good stuff to those who are constantly complaining about their knees. You just gotta love all of ‘em.
