Thriv’Able Thursday: Row For Water

With the all the Olympic glory and adversity we have been seeing the last two weeks it’s easy to overlook one “Olympian” who won’t be getting a medal in Vancouver.

Katie Spotz is from Mentor, Ohio (the town next door to mine). Katie is about the same age as most of our Olympic team.

She is rowing across the Atlantic Ocean.

Alone.

And she’s blogging all the way.

She’s almost there, too.

It’s all for a good cause:

The Blue Planet Run is a San Francisco based non-profit funding safe drinking water projects for the billion people around the world in need. Unsafe drinking water is the world’s leading cause of sickness and disease, but this crisis is solvable.

We take safe drinking water for granted. Much of the rest of the planet can’t.
